Amid a busy movie season in 2022, the highly anticipated Sonic the Hedgehog is one of the most highly anticipated films. It will be released next month. The Sonic 2 poster may feature imagery or themes inspired by the video game and information about the film’s release date, cast, and crew.
In the past few months, Paramount has been running a successful marketing campaign for the sequel based on the classic Sega game franchise of the same name. Thankfully, courtesy of Dolby Cinema, a brand new poster for the film has been released for the film. There is no doubt that Sonic fans will be pleased with this piece of artwork.

It depicts Sonic and Tails flying in front of a Dolby Cinema logo decked out in hedgehog blue, with Sonic and Tails flying in front of the logo. Our favorite heroes look like they are racing through a city, and Knuckles appears behind them, ready to fight his way through the city.
There is also a classic move from the official Sonic franchise. Here, he uses Tails to hover in the air to perform a classic action from the game franchise. This poster is almost a one-to-one re-creation of how movement is typically animated in the games, right down to the exact position of their feet in the sign.
The film franchise has similarly honored the games in the past, so it is not the first time the film franchise has done that. For instance, one of the most recent posters was a recreation of the iconic cover art for Sonic the Hedgehog 2. There have been numerous references and callbacks to Sonic & Knuckles. This borrows many elements from Sonic & Knuckles, the third game in the Sonic series.
As seen in the game, Dr. Robotnik, played by Jim Carrey, recruits Knuckles to assist him in battling Sonic. It has been almost exclusively their showdown that has dominated the marketing of the entire sequel. By the movie’s end, I hope they will have become friends as they did during the games.
Caption for this poster: you are also challenged to buy your tickets as soon as possible to see how fast you can get them. To win the game, you need to “go fast!” as any Sonic fan would tell you.
A surprise hit at the box office, the first film was a thrilling ride that kept the audience on the edge of their seat throughout the entire film. The fast pace of the action could be attributed to the insanely entertaining performances that kept everything moving. Having performed so well in Carrey’s first film, it was clear to anyone in the know that he would be even better in the sequel to the film in that he stole the show.
Sonic 2 posters and trailers released so far seem to indicate that, based on the trailers and posters released so far, this sequel is taking everything the first film did so well – from the joyous character dynamics to the absurd humor to the visually stunning action – and making it the best version ever.
With a third film and a spin-off series starring Idris Elba in the works, the Sonic cinematic universe is only growing with a third film and a Knuckles spin-off series on the way. The actor is also writing his comic book devoted to Robotnik, which will be published later this year.
As you can see below, this new high-flying poster represents a small preview of what is to come in the future for our favorite blue blur, and it’s just a tiny taste of the big things to come.
