Elizbeth Lail occupies the role of Mack, the movie’s main character, a young, reclusive homebody forced to come out of her shell after becoming embroiled in an unfortunate incident.
There are many roles that Lail has played in her career, including Once Upon A Time, Dead of Summer, and the psychological thriller You. A nomination for the Saturn Award has been given to her for her performance in that film. The actress has starred in several television series, including Gossip Girl: Reimagined on HBO and Ordinary Joe. This NBC series follows three parallel timelines that follow one man’s journey throughout his life.
Diane Keaton as Older Mack Martin/Aunt Rita
Undoubtedly, Diane Keaton fits the role of Mack’s more vibrant, older self. There is an older Mack who became a viral sensation when she created a persona known as Aunt Rita and became a celebrity overnight.
In her acting career that spans five decades, Keaton has established herself as one of the most legendary American actors. Her first appearance on Broadway was in 1968 when she appeared in a musical. Probably Keaton’s most notable role is her collaboration with the director Woody Allen, particularly in the 1977 movie Annie Hall, for which Keaton was awarded the Academy Award for Best Actress in the Best Actress category.
With his versatility as an actor who has acted in a variety of movie genres, Keaton has starred in an extensive collection of movies, which includes The Godfather, Manhattan, Baby Boom, Father of the Bride, The First Wives Club, Marvin’s Room, Something’s Gotta Give and Book Club. In 2023, Keaton will appear in the sequel to Book Club, with most original cast members returning, including Andy Garcia, Jane Fonda, and Don Johnson.
Taylour Paige as Carla
Taylour Paige plays Mack’s best friend, Carla, who is responsible for pushing her out of her comfort zone and pushing her to do things that she wouldn’t normally do. She is both an actress and a dancer.
Paige is best known for her role in the television series Hit the Floor as Ahsha Hayes, in which she played the role of Ahsha Hayes. In addition to Jean of the Joneses, she has also starred in Zola, which was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead, as well as Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, a film based on August Wilson’s play of the same name, for which she won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead.

In addition to his work in 90210, a spin-off of the popular 90s series Beverly Hills 90210, Milligan is known for his performances as Ted Mullens in Schitt’s Creek and Ethan Ward in 90210.
Besides starring alongside Samuel Barnett and Elijah Wood in Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency in a recurring role, he also had a recurring role in Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency as Sgt. Mack & Rita also features Martin Short, Lois Smith, Wendie Malick, and Loretta Devine as supporting characters. The Martin Short Show is the self-titled television series he created in 1999 as part of his acting and comedian career. A 1955 James Dean film starred Lois Smith in her film debut.
